Maybe I need the Noobstaff... I don't get the "oneeleven111!!!shiftone" - tho i see it often... can someone explain, or am I too far gone?
I agree that the greens dilute the value of the golds; and what, these type of events will happen several times a year? What happens when every possible mod combo has been produced in a green? No need to upgrade your gear anymore...
Greens should require some type of maintenance/repair (like Diablo II), or perhaps even completely expire and be ruined... say, after 1000 hits; that way they will still have value, without replacing the value of gold items; and without completely making purple items merchant food (which they just about are already), while preserving the essential UPGRADE element of the game.

Well, the "oneelven111!!!shiftone!!!" bit is making refrence to someone so excited (or angry) trying to hit shift-1 to make an exclamation point (!) and put a billion of them after whatever they happen to be shouting at the time. The logic is, that the dumber a person is, the more they want to be heard ... and the more exclamation points they want to put after their sentences
Example: "ZOMG STFU N00B!!!!!1111shiftone!!!11"
would be making fun of someone that speaks this way as common practice

Well really since they now have ectos in 2/3 most populated farming spots in the game, unless anet does something to stop it, ectos will fall to basically nothing (I mean, they already dropped 1k since last night). While rubies and sapphires can make up the difference somewhat, they're much hard to find and already more expensive than ectos, so a lot of money would be lost when trading over from ectos to them. Shards are a possiblity though, but another update could always change the status of any trader item.
You can store money in items but that isn't much good either if you have to sell an item everytime you buy something. Plus you'll have to include money and items when trading for the really great items anyways, since all of the money storage can hold would not be enough to buy them. And no one is going to want or need a few imperfect items for the 15^50 crystalline or whatever they find, so basic items trades won't work on those either.
A storage char full of superior absorbs might not be a bad idea, but if/when that drops its going to be the same thing all over again, but at least that one should take a little while to fall. With most people I know are around 400-500k + items now, so other than the new people that the expansion brings in, will there really be much of a difference in the rich and the poor before long?
Basically the point is you can't say the econonmy isn't crashing from the point of view of the players who have 1000k and tons of ectos. If everyone made money in a valid way (not buying or selling, chest farming or builds like the invici monk), items would probably never go for over 100k in the first place. Given Anet's feelings about large sums of money, and the fact that they limited trades to 100k in the first place, it makes me wonder if they intended for the econonmy to crash a bit:

I am thinking Gaile might have just meant that the changes to tombs are permanent... as in, that it will be left in ruins. I am not so sure that this storyline event will continue that makes it farmable... =\
It just feels like we are reading too much into a fairly vague statement by her.

Well.. It wouldn't be fair if there only was a sword or something like that. But if they make a sword, an axe, and a hammer; they should also make a staff for every attribute.
So you don have a point, but there shouldn't be any items deleted.

The reason it's not working for you is because the site is http://www.guildwiki.org... not guildwiki.net
